Before the formation of CRMP, Ian has been instrumental in developing the Risk Management profession in Uganda and the Region as a Founding Chairperson of the Institute of Risk Management UK – Uganda Chapter and the Vice Chair of the UNBS Technical Committee on Risk Management & Resilience Standards since 2020. Where he continues to advocate for best practices in Risk Management through a collaborative approach.
He was also a Non-Executive Board Member of the Digital Frontiers Association, DFA in charge of Communication & Marketing from 2019 -2022, where he developed and implemented the Digital Communication & Marketing Strategy that saw membership engagement and growth hit an all-time high of over 120% and 90% respectively despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a Risk and Finance Professional, he has developed Risk Management Frameworks, Operational Policies and Procedures, Performed Business Impact Assessments and developed staff capacity through coaching and Training clients in the following sectors: Banking, Insurance, Health Care, Media, Legal Services, Development Agencies, Professional Associations, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas and Information Technology.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University – India, and a Certified Digital Finance Practioner, CDFP with the Fletcher School of Law at Tufts University the USA and Digital Frontiers Institute. A Member of the Institute of Risk Management UK Since 2017 and currently pursuing an MBA from Liverpool John Moores University.
The author of “UNCERTAIN” _ Beginner’s Guide to Risk Management, a book on the fundamentals of Risk Management.
He likes to read, play chess, and work with communities in his free time. His love for community impact drove him to join Rotary International and he is a Board Member for Kampala South where he serves as the Risk and Compliance Officer for the year 2021/22.
